In this increasingly complex world, mental health is fast becoming recognised as an important issue. Engine Room was proud to produce this documentary for Cirrus Media detailing the development of the Cheer Index, a scale used by GPs to recognise whether a depressed patient is suffering from emotional blunting while on anti-depressants. The interviews were powerful, especially from the patient, Rowan Wall, based in the Mornington Peninsula. Our visual aesthetic used colour moving from desaturated to saturated to convey the change from blunting to feeling the spectrum of emotions.
